Hello, I wonder if you could help me. Ive got these -2 gauntlets of power and i've uncursed them, i'm just wondering.. what do they actually do? what does the '-2' refer to? When I equip them, I gain 25 strength, but I dont see to be able to carry a lot more.. I can throw Mjollnir now, I guess.. but I seem to lose 1 point of AC too...

It was quite long-winded to de-curse these gloves so I need to be able to gain quite a bit from using them, otherwise its pointless.— Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.152.154.101 (talkcontribs) 12 August 2008

What is your strength without the gauntlets? If it's very high, say, 18/50 or more, you might not notice much extra capacity. The -2 is the enchantment; it is subtracted from your AC while you wear the item. Do you have a wand of cancellation? You could zap it at the gauntlets to make them +0.--Ray Chason 22:54, 12 August 2008 (UTC)
The gauntlets of power do what you just said: they give you a strength of 25. The strength gain doesn't give a noticeable increase in stuff you can carry around (or at least not as much as using a bag of holding). The '-2' refers to the AC they give you (or in this case, take away). I guess you lost only 1 point of AC because you were previously wearing some -1 gloves? Anyhow, it's worth keeping the gauntlets, since you can now throw Mjollnir. And remember to use some scroll of enchant armor to up the AC on them. :) —Shijun 23:04, 12 August 2008 (UTC)
