Are there any ports for windows that have a similar GUI to the QT mac version?

If not, is there a way to have the vanilla version with similar options? Like increasing the lines on the log, moving the status menu(maybe having some colors) I tried increasing the font size in the default file, it did increase the size of the msg window but also the text so that was really little help.

Also id like nethack to open my inventory when i want to apply, drop, name, etc instead of first having to open the inventory, look at the letter, close the inventory, *action*, then letter. The Qt version seems to do this nicely from what I could tell on the "Lets play nethack" videos on youtube. Is this possible?

Or are there any patches/mods that can do this? i looked through 9 pages of the dl section, but only saw one that adds color to the status bar(not sure if it was for tty or not though)

Not sure if this helps, but there's a RGRN thread about this subject. --Tjr 00:46, 6 November 2011 (UTC)
the same question. same user? the answer he is looking for is from you, tjr about half way down. it states (and i paraphrase):
if you enter "?" (no quotes) in response to any prompt, it will bring up a list of all the things that you can do whatever it is to, and if you use "*" (again, no quotes) it will give you a list of everything in your inventory (mostly.)
also, if the "mac version" is the one ported to iOS, it's not really what you could call netHack. it's a cut down version explicitly modded in response to the developer's playstyle. that is, it only includes the commands he (ey?) uses and in a order convenient for him. really horrible if you're used to a version with a full(-ish) command set. --194.116.198.179 12:40, 7 November 2011 (UTC)
I assumed the * and ? commands don't necessarily work, else why bother asking. For clarity, do they work in the Windows version? --Tjr 16:59, 7 November 2011 (UTC)
There are a couple iOS versions, so I wouldn't speak quite so broadly, if I were you. -208.97.245.239 01:00, 8 November 2011 (UTC)
in the windows versions i've seen, yes, the * and ? keys work. in the mobile version they're not consistently in the first line of the first page and "next page" is not obvious.
searching the appstore for "NetHack" returns only one that's free and tile based. if you're not playing with tiles, why do you need an app at all? admittedly, in my experience all the free telnet clients for iOS either flatly do not work or do not interact with NAO correctly. i do suck at searching, though. any pointers to either a free telnet client that works ith NAO or a free tiled app that is actually NetHack gratefully received. although, of course, my partner has banned me from using her ipad so it's all academic anyway. ;) --194.116.198.179 12:50, 8 November 2011 (UTC)
There are at least two, named Nethack and iNethack. Both have complete commands available and have tile sets enabled, so I'm really not sure what you're talking about. If you're looking for a telnet client to use with Nethack, there's Rogueterm. There are a couple bugs, but it's under active development. No tiles, though. -67.169.120.3 15:04, 8 November 2011 (UTC)
