Anyone know of a good widely-supported sans-serif monospace font for the monospaced table? It looks good in FF, but in chrome it defaults to something ugly, probably Courier.

In Linux, setting -D as "wizard" does not put you in debug

First off, sorry for the long section name. I couldn't think of anything else. Anyway, creating profile "wizard" and running nethack -D says "[greeting] wizard, welcome to nethack! You are a [alignment] [gender] [race] [role]. --More--" "Only user "root" may access debug (wizard) mode. --More--" "Entering discovery mode instead." This happens to me in Linux Mint 18.2.1, running nethack-x11. Is this a code problem, or just incorrect info? Pyro9224 (talk) 13:51, 9 September 2017 (UTC)

On Linux, I think you have to edit the WIZARDS option in sysconf. On my install, it defaults to "WIZARDS=root games", and since I don't run a multi-user system I change it to "WIZARDS=*" to allow any user to run as wizard with -D. This automatically changes my player name to "wizard" even though the process is running under my normal username. --Phol ende wodan (talk) 23:31, 9 September 2017 (UTC)
Where is sysconf? I searched for it in file system and couldn't find anything (mostly due to ridicoulous amounts of "sysconfig.py" files), and even .nethackrc wasn't where it was supposed to be. (For the record, it's etc/nethack/nethackrc.{x11|tty|console}. Pyro9224 (talk) 11:47, 12 September 2017 (UTC)
Maybe try to locate the "nethackdir" directory - it could be under /usr or /usr/games or /etc, I think that depends on the distro and possibly the windowport. But the nethackdir directory should contain the sysconf file. --Phol ende wodan (talk) 12:35, 12 September 2017 (UTC)
It's not in any of those places, and worse, I searched it and found... NOTHING NAMED nethackdir. This is driving me nuts now. Pyro9224 (talk) 23:16, 12 September 2017 (UTC)
