A user has suggested improving this page or section as follows:

"Much of this material is duplicated in property. What should we do about it? Also, between holding and speed, material is missing. Thirdly, perhaps the alignment record stuff takes up too much space and should be folded."

Enlightenment is a brief, one-time-only indication of a number of normally hidden character attributes, such as Luck, alignment record, and resistances to elemental attacks such as fire. When you get an enlightenment, "you feel self-knowledgeable" and these attributes are displayed; when you dismiss the window, "The feeling subsides" and the list cannot be displayed a second time, even with the ctrl + p command, but if you record your session with ttyrec, then it can be replayed.

Enlightenment can be triggered in these ways:

Wand of Enlightenment output.

Some of this information can also be obtained by applying a stethoscope to yourself. ctrl + x will display your base attributes.

Enlightenment will give you information about the following attributes. If you do not have a particular attribute, no message will be displayed.
