Strategy
The wombat is a rather unremarkable monster, doing middling damage and moving at the same speed as an unhasted player. Though it is roughly comparable to a wolf, encounters with them tend to be easier since wombats do not generate in groups. Their AC of 5 is the best among the zouthern animals, but still very mediocre, and they have no resistances or MR score to speak of.
While wombats can be tamed with vegan food similar to horses, their inferior combat abilities and diet make this less than worthwhile.
Origin
Wombats are short-legged, muscular quadrupedal marsupials that are native to Australia. A wombat is about 1 meter (40 in) in length with a small, stubby tail, and weighs between 20 and 35 kg (44 and 77 lb). Wombats are adaptable and habitat tolerant, and are found in forested, mountainous, and heathland areas of southern and eastern Australia - this includes Tasmania and an isolated patch of more than 700 acres in Epping Forest National Park within central Queensland.
