* [[Read]]ing a non-cursed [[scroll of remove curse]]
* Casting the [[spell of remove curse]]
* Successful [[prayer]] on a co-aligned [[altar]] - the hero's god will consider it a [[major problem]]

[[Curse resistance]] blocks all instances of mummy rot from occurring, but does not cure any existing mummy rot. The [[sustain ability]] property can prevent attribute changes induced by mummy rot.
