A satyr has a weapon attack and the ability to steal items from adjacent targets without making contact with them—a satyr that has a [[wooden flute]] can play it in order to charm their victim.

A [[hero]] [[polymorph]]ed into a satyr cannot remove [[iron chain]]s attached to them like other nymphs, but can play the wooden flute to [[tame]] monsters.

Randomly generated satyrs are always created hostile, and unlike other nymphs they do not generate [[asleep]] by default.
