Thankfully, shadow ogres lack any other defenses beyond a formidable [[Magic resistance (monster)|MR score]] of 60, and a hero can use [[attack wand]]s and enchanted [[projectile]]s to bring down an approaching shadow ogre before it can get within melee range, or even use a [[wand of death]].
