It is the prize for completing the [[Hedrow shared quest]]. It is [[unaligned]], and its [[base item]] is a set of [[droven chain mail]] made of "spidersilk" [[cloth]].

Spidersilk can only be obtained by characters of the aforementioned race and roles that return the initial quest artifact, [[dNetHack artifacts#Darkweaver's Cloak|Darkweaver's Cloak]], to their quest leader [[Eclavdra]].

While worn, Spidersilk grants 3 base [[AC]] and 4 [[DR]], with a +2 bonus to both status to make up for the lower protection versus standard droven chain mail. Wearing Spidersilk adds a sleep-inducing poison effect to the wearer's unarmed attacks, and grants double spell damage with ray and beam spells similar to [[The Magic Mirror of Merlin]] for [[Knight]]s - it also prevents the wearer from being trapped in [[web]]s, which does not interfere with the AC bonus given by [[the Black Web]] for being "trapped" in a web.
