毛巾可以[[佩戴]]在[[玩家]]的眼部，其佩戴时功能与[[眼罩]]相同：佩戴者会进入失明状态，[[摘下]]后解除{{reffunc|apply.c|use_towel}}。

对毛巾进行[[使用]]操作时，它会发挥如下作用：
* 如果玩家处于[[手滑]]状态，且毛巾非[[诅咒]]，则会用毛巾擦净自己的手，解除手滑状态。
* 如果玩家因[[奶油派]]或[[致盲毒液]]等异物遮眼而陷入[[失明]]状态，且毛巾非诅咒，则会用毛巾擦净自己的脸，解除异物造成的失明。和利用[[擦拭]]命令擦脸不同的是，用毛巾擦脸仅需1回合即可完成。
* 如果毛巾被诅咒，则其会令玩家陷入手滑或异物遮眼状态。

玩家也可以用毛巾进行[[刻写]]操作。用毛巾刻写不会在地上写出文字，而是擦除地面上已有的文字。用灰尘写出的文字、用血写出的文字，或用[[魔笔]]写出的文字都可以用毛巾擦除{{refsrc|engrave.c|784}}。
