Lomya is an artifact that appears in dNetHack and notdNetHack. It is unaligned and favors drow, and its base item is always a ring with the randomized appearance of a "black signet ring" - this ring cannot be levitation, aggravate monster, hunger, polymorph, or polymorph control.
Description
While worn, Lomya has the usual effects conferred by the ring whose appearance it matches, and additionally confers teleportitis, teleport control and automatic searching. Each attack made while wearing Lomya has a 1⁄2 chance of putting target monster(s) to sleep for up to 8 turns, subject to monster MR, and attacking unarmed while wearing Lomya without gloves also applies silver damage, due to the presence of Lolth's holy symbol.
Wearing Lomya also strongly lowers the failure rate of enchantment spells, halves the timeout of special attacks for a character's pets, and applies a wisdom-based modifier of (X-11)⁄2 (where X is the character's WIS) to pets' DR. The ring also applies a secondary wisdom and charisma-based modifier of (X+Y-18)⁄4 + Z to pets' maximum monster levels, where X is the character's WIS, Y is the character's CHA, and Z is the character's level of beast mastery, which is a value from 0-5 that is doubled if Clarent is in the main or offhand weapon slot.
