This page is a stub. Should you wish to do so, you can contribute by expanding this page.

A user has suggested improving this page or section as follows:

"What's the difference between swimming and amphibiousness?"

An amphibious monster is able to survive on both land and water. Such a monster is identified by the macro amphibious(ptr)[1] which checks for either of the tags M1_BREATHLESS or M1_AMPHIBIOUS (see those articles for lists). Note that amphibiousness does not protect items from getting wet.

Also note that, rather confusingly, "amphibious" may include or exclude breathless non-amphibious monsters, depending on which of the macro and the tag is being referred to. Unless the meaning is obvious from context or the distinction is irrelevant, please specify which is meant.

Upon entering water:

You fall into the water. But you aren't drowning. You touch bottom.

Upon leaving water:

You are on solid land again.
