Xterm-ibm-oracle.png(508 × 346 pixels, file size: 8 KB, MIME type: image/png)

This shows IBMgraphics (and color) in xterm, at the Oracle level. Notice the walls of the rooms, the corridors, the open doors (yellow squares) and the fountains around the Oracle. To have IBMgraphics in xterm, one must:

  • Start an xterm in UTF-8; the easy way is to run the uxterm command.
  • Run luit -g2 'CP 437' in that xterm to provide translation from code page 437 to UTF-8.
  • Enable IBMgraphics (and optionally color) in NetHack.

Kernigh used wizard mode to levelport to the Oracle and KSnapshot to make this PNG image.
