It just occurred to me to bash enemies with a bow in order to train my bow skill without jeopardizing ammunition, but I'm not sure if it actually works.

Code-diving will answer that one, but I can point out that bashing enemies with a dagger trains dagger skill and that's apparent when throwing them. The empirical way to find out the answer is to spend half a day bashing with the launcher and see if your skill goes up. Wikid (talk) 08:40, 29 May 2014 (UTC)

It does not. This is easily confirmed in wizmode, which shows the number of qualifying uses you've had of any given skill. I'm nearly certain I've also seen this mentioned on the wiki somewhere, but I can't seem to find it at the moment. Wooble (talk) 12:10, 29 May 2014 (UTC)
It does not. Daggers are a special case. However, bashing monsters with the ammo might be a better question. --Tjr (talk) 20:43, 29 May 2014 (UTC)
That makes sense -- using dagger logic, bashing with a launcher would only train for throwing the launcher. Wikid (talk) 21:15, 29 May 2014 (UTC)
