"The D&D Asmodeus is a handsome, red-eyed, dark-skinned and dark-haired humanoid bearing two small horns and clad in very expensive clothing."

-_- Any one has a problem with the English of this phrase? (there's an edit conflict with some one).--Quantum Immortal (talk) 19:57, 30 September 2015 (UTC)

Dark haired and skinned might flow better. Jubilex (talk) 21:35, 30 September 2015 (UTC)
The issue, as I understand it, was that it previously said "red-eyed, dark-skinned and -haired humanoid" and you chose to add the "dark" to make "dark-haired" and make it more explicit. As the other user was saying, the previous version was correct, but so is yours. This is a matter of style, and personally given the other guidelines in the style guide, I would prefer your more explicit version. The Wikipedia manual of style, which is suggested as good by NetHackWiki's own style guide, also prefers this usage: "A hanging hyphen is used when two compound modifiers are separated (two- and three-digit numbers; a ten-car or -truck convoy; sloping right- or leftward, but better is sloping rightward or leftward)" (my emphasis). --Scorchgeek (talk) 23:20, 30 September 2015 (UTC)
The other user insist my version is not correct. At first i thought it was a typo, but later i didn't maintain that it was wrong. I think my version is more non-native friendly. I'm not a native English speaker, and this left hyphen hanging in mid air with the meaning of "dark" jumping an "and" is quite obscure English syntax.--Quantum Immortal (talk) 23:52, 30 September 2015 (UTC)
beater now? Beater? How impressive.
Quantum Immortal, your poor English comprehension makes it impossible to talk to you. I never said that your rewrite was incorrect, just unnecessary; as Scorchgeek just explained to you again, "dark-skinned and -haired" is acceptable, you just weren't familiar with it (what a surprise!) - it's not obscure at all.
This is not Simple English NethackWiki, and frankly, the writing here doesn't need to be dumbed down to accommodate you - instead, your ability needs to come up. I won't travel to your country and start "editing" your road signs simply because I'm too ignorant to read them, and that is because I am not a jackass. I can't believe you told another user "And why should they read it, if they think they alredy know how teleporters work?" Wow.--74.137.179.27 02:52, 1 October 2015 (UTC)
I have no interest in becoming entangled with whatever it is you are so angry about, nor whether it is, as you claim, nothing more than frustration over language errors. However, please allow me to calmly indulge you in a little secret: Partaking in cooperative endeavours such as this wiki is made much harder if one is not polite to those with which one must work; this includes calling them incompetent and "fringe cases", the latter of which I presume to be some sort of slur too obscure to be documented by any dictionary.
Encouraging them to quit editing is also useless and, if may be frank, patronizing. If you care enough to make a fuss, surely you care plenty enough to just correct the errors?
But please, do not feel compelled to reply to this (nor to point out the undoubtedly numerous instances of non-standard language in my comment). I shall feel victorious if I may inspire only a few thoughts.__Train (talk) 18:30, 1 October 2015 (UTC)

I have no problem with the English of the phrase. Wikid (talk) 05:42, 16 November 2015 (UTC)

Thank you for your comment. The issue was solved a while back :) .--Quantum Immortal (talk) 07:13, 16 November 2015 (UTC)
