Forum:Movement: is running the same as going?

Is there any difference between the g/G commands that the help text calls "run in a direction," and the YUHJKLBN commands which simply say "go in a direction"? It seems like running all the time makes me get hungry faster, but I could be making that up.

The difference between g and G commands is only what will interrupt you. If you go along a corridor and hit a branch, the game will want you to decide. G simply picks a branch and marches on.
Multistep movement commands are only a convenience to the player. In all cases, g and G give the same results as if you had pressed the according sequence of arrow keys.
Likely, what's making your character hunger faster is all the backtracking you do when G takes you too far. --Tjr 04:07, 22 December 2010 (UTC)
