SLASH'EM (Super Lotsa Added Stuff Hack - Extended Magic) is a variant of NetHack based on NetHack version 3.3.1. The object of the game is the same: to fetch the Amulet of Yendor from the bottom of the Gehennom and offer it to your god.

Compared to vanilla NetHack, SLASH'EM contains five new roles and five new races for the player to choose from, several new special levels, several new monsters, new items and new artifacts, and other changes. The main dungeon is longer in SLASH'EM than in NetHack but the Gehennom is shorter.

SLASH'EM is available for Windows, MS-DOS, Linux, OS/2, (obsolete) Mac classic and Mac OS X (tty only).

Most people regard SLASH'EM as much more difficult than vanilla NetHack. It contains significantly more content, but is widely considered to be less balanced. The latest stable version of SLASH'EM is 0.0.7E7F3 and the latest development version is 0.0.8E0F2.

As of Septenber 16th, 2018, SLASH'EM is back in development - mainly bug fixes and quality of life improvements. Version is 0.0.8E0F2, github repository can be found here.

However, many of the more popular parts of SLASH'EM, such as the Vampire starting race and the Black Market level have been incorporated into actively developed variants such as UnNetHack. There is also a successor named Slash'EM Extended, and an abandoned variant named SLASHTHEM.
