Rewrote parts of the 'equipment' section. - N

Possible mistakes

The article states that barbarian start with only one food ration, although I started a game with 2 food rations and a carrot

I also think there is some mistake. I got 3 food rations instead of 1. I am using nethack version 3.4.

Accidentally added to the old wiki instead of here - I started with 2 food rations and a tin of fox meat. Not sure why; I've never had this happen before.

Fixed. In your case, the guaranteed food ration turned out to be a stack of two, and the random food-class object a tin of fox meat. --Tjr 00:43, 17 September 2011 (UTC)

Changed a portion of the skills section which suggested a silver spear at skilled did equivalent damage to a silver saber at basic. The statement was in direct reference to selecting a second weapon for #twoweaponing and therefore incorrect since Barbarian #twoweaponing is capped at Basic.

Cleaver is guaranteed?

Just got vorpal blade, and it's the first gift i get...— Preceding unsigned comment added by Newtkiller (talkcontribs)

Cleaver was already randomly generated somewhere in your game. I'd say the most likely cause is a bones level. -- Qazmlpok 21:17, June 11, 2010 (UTC)

Boxes and chests

Is it just my imagination, or are boxes and chests more likely to be empty when a barbarian character is in the dungeon?

No, it's independent of character class. But you might notice more, since your character could depend more on container loot. --Tjr 00:44, 17 September 2011 (UTC)

trolls reviving

If you kill them on a different level, "But you'll eventually have to deal with them on the return trip.[citation needed]"

Can't you just wait until they rot away, i.e. spend 250 turns on the quest end level? I guess if they rot away before they revive, you're done with them. --Tjr (talk) 07:23, 13 May 2013 (UTC)

Random food?!

u_init.c suggests that this is a myth, and possibly the article is based on someone playing an orcish barbarian, who starts with one random food item (in addition to the food rations) due to being an orc? --Bluescreenofdeath (talk) 09:32, 19 July 2017 (UTC)
