Can nurses also spontaneously cancel?

--Rogerb-on-NAO 22:31, 22 May 2008 (UTC)

No, they spontaneously go poof.--Ray Chason 22:45, 22 May 2008 (UTC)
OK thanks. I knew they didn't last forever, but couldn't remember how it happened. --Rogerb-on-NAO 23:34, 22 May 2008 (UTC)

Canceling objects

Can magic-resistant objects like grey dragon scale mail be canceled?Ih fek 21:35, 10 March 2009 (UTC)

Yes. In a similar vein, crystal plate mail will only shatter if you do not wear it. Tjr 14:12, 30 April 2009 (UTC)

uncancelling

While it doesn't matter for cancellation, I feel priest and shopkeeper exceptions should be documented somewhere on the wiki. In fact, the only monsters where cancellation really does matter cannot be uncancelled: foocubi. --Tjr 10:30, 21 June 2011 (UTC)

Self-Cancellation

Article says that if you zap yourself, it bypasses the MR protection. Tried this in SLASH'EM 0.0.7E7F3, and it is not the case. i.e. You (and your inventory) are still protected by the MR. Does the MR-bypass only apply to self-zapping in Vanilla? --AileTheAlien 16:47, 12 August 2011 (UTC)

Actually, it's a separate code path that never checks for magic resistance, see Source:Ref/zapyourself. --Tjr 18:17, 12 August 2011 (UTC)

Canceling Shapeshifters

What happens if you cancel a shapeshifter ? Does it work at all ? For example a tame chamälen what is currently a dragon ? Does it return into chamäleon form or does it stay in its dragon form ? --79.210.73.53 22:41, 23 March 2013 (UTC)

Nothing happens if I read the code correctly. Weremonsters rehumanize and clay golems get killed, but no other monsters are affected. Of course, the monster gets the "cancelled" attribute, which nullifies most special attacks. zap.c, line 2266 --Tjr (talk) 12:26, 24 March 2013 (UTC)
