potion grouping

When you have identified a single member of the following potions, you are automatically provided with knowledge of the remaining potions: Potion of healing, extra healing or full healing

I doubt this is true. My wizard never know the other potions, regardless if they start with or identify one. --Tjr 21:49, 7 July 2011 (UTC)

This definitely doesn't occur. I've had plenty of games where one of the healing potions is identified but not the others, whether from quaffing or scroll. Closest would be the healer knowing full healing despite not starting with any.
Furthermore, potions of [un]holy water shouldn't appear in the discoveries menu at all. It's all one class of items - water. I just did a water prayer for holy water after scroll IDing an uncursed potion, and it certainly didn't add 'potion of holy water' to the discoveries list. Unless I'm doing something wrong that section should be removed as well. -- Qazmlpok 21:58, 7 July 2011 (UTC)
Thank you. What's up with launchers and matching missiles? Archs get sling skill because of the touchstone, do they know slings? --Tjr 22:17, 7 July 2011 (UTC)
Slings don't show up in discoveries at all, since they don't have an unknown type. They always appear as "Sling". Same with regular arrows and bows, and all of the other types of arrow/bow fall under racial. -- Qazmlpok 00:16, 8 July 2011 (UTC)
Healers do start off knowing the potion of full healing - my guess is whoever added that 'fact' probably played a healer and didn't realize it was a class-specific thing. Also, I can see how one might think true that for another class - it's often easy to miss monsters drinking potions of (extra|full) healing amidst all the battle spam, and to thus end up having it ID'd without realizing how it had been ID'd. I'm going to go change the article if no one objects. -Ion frigate 00:53, 8 July 2011 (UTC)
