Does throwing a weapon count toward improving your skill with that weapon? --Preceding unsigned comment added by 199.168.80.23 (talkcontribs) 22:35, 4 June 2012‎ (UTC)

Hitting with any thrown weapon will increase the successful use counter for that weapon. This applies both to ranged weapons like darts and weapons that are meant to be used in melee like quarterstaffs or unicorn horns. --99.239.147.0 02:26, 5 June 2012 (UTC)
It does not break weaponless conduct, though. --Tjr (talk) 08:18, 5 June 2012 (UTC)

Loadstone as weapon

Does a thrown loadstone cause damage proportional to its humongous weight? --Tjr (talk) 08:39, 9 November 2012 (UTC)

No. If you are not using a sling, then all gems including loadstones do d2 damage: Source:uhitm.c#line580. And if you are using a sling, loadstones (like all gems except flint stones) do d3 damage: Source:objects.c#line934. --Erica (talk) 03:25, 10 November 2012 (UTC)

Throwing other weapons

Other than the ones classed in the wiki as throwing weapons, that is. It looks like hmon_hitmon treats every thrown weapon the same, simply uses it's base damage, and applies and exercises the skill of the weapon thrown. I've noticed +0 unicorn horns to be much more effective per skill rank than daggers.98.172.189.77 18:19, 14 April 2014 (UTC)

Throwing Axes

Are axes viable for Barbarian to throw? It'd give me a reason to keep the starting axe, and they are purported to be throwable. That is to say, they seem to imply they have a bonus of sorts. --Bodark (talk) 05:11, 11 February 2015 (UTC)
