Shouldn't this page say something about how the strength lost due to touch of death is negated by the gauntlets of power?--Mdlp0716 (talk) 02:08, 27 December 2016 (UTC)

There is no strength loss with either touch of death, only max HP loss with Death's deadly touch, and GoP does not prevent that. -- Qazmlpok (talk) 22:32, 31 December 2016 (UTC)

3.7.0 - max HP do matter

From the code change, actually, it doesn't actually bother doing the HP loss if the max HP loss would put your max HP to 0 or less. This matters because of things like polyself reversion. Umbire, I will edit that part unless you'd like to correct it? -Actual-nh (talk) 16:44, 20 May 2021 (UTC)

I'd actually thought of another case where it applied and added it in the time it took you to type this. I can save you the work and double back. --Umbire the Phantom (talk) 16:52, 20 May 2021 (UTC)
That works. (Would lifesaving actually even try if it's directly going to done(DEAD)? I will have to check on this.) I'll delete the Riders notification if desired. -Actual-nh (talk) 16:57, 20 May 2021 (UTC)
I just checked re lifesaving - actually, it _will_ work to save your life. Maxhp aren't reduced if the code calls done(DIED) directly. (Even if it did, when done calls savelife, it resets your maximum hp if need be (see [1]).) -Actual-nh (talk) 17:10, 20 May 2021 (UTC)
Cool. You can remove the Riders talk page bit if you like, working on this now. --Umbire the Phantom (talk) 17:12, 20 May 2021 (UTC)
There a reason you removed the citation for the thing you... wanted me to add? --Umbire the Phantom (talk) 20:25, 21 May 2021 (UTC)
I was unclear on what I was writing; I am sorry. "Even if it did" is entirely too easy to miss, and my inclusion of the additional information was my being compulsive about that. Currently, at least, if it goes to instadeath, it doesn't reduce maximum HP in the first place; this may be a bug... -Actual-nh (talk) 20:32, 21 May 2021 (UTC)
