The circle is under siege by six humans and four dwarves, and there is a hostile adventuring party to the right, composed of a knight named Mauro, a barbarian named Dragor, a priest named Erohe, and a wizard named Anestus; all of their names are anagrams of Gundam protagonists. There is a pit at each entrance to the circle, and there are also two random traps on the level.

The entire level is no-teleport, and has undiggable walls.

Upper filler level

The entire level has undiggable walls. Teleportation is permitted.

Messages

Entry

First time:

You arrive in familiar surroundings. In the distance, you <see|sense> the
great stone circle which marks the entrance to the Slime Paradise.
Something is wrong, though. Surrounding the circle are adventurers!
And they've noticed you!

Next time:

Once again, you stand before the Slime Paradise.

If already rejected twice due to bad alignment:

You have the oddest feeling that this may be the last time you
are to enter the Slime Paradise.

Quest guardians

If #chatting before the quest is complete:

"<playername>! I have not seen you in many cycles. How do you fare?"
"The legendary hero continues to threaten the Slime Paradise. But we hold fast."
"The Slime Emperor is growing weak. The magic required to defend the Slime Paradise drains us."
"Remember that slimes are not welcome in the village of Humbleton. Seek the secret passages."
"We must regain the Slime Crown. Without it we will be overrun."

Quest leader

When you first meet your quest leader:

"<playername>! You have returned! Thank <Rubiss|Malroth>.
"We have great need of you. But first, I must see if you have the
required abilities to take on this responsibility."

When you return, having been rejected due to lack of experience:

"Once again, <playername>, you stand in our midst. Are you ready now?"

This message is not currently used:

"Ah, you are here again, <playername>. Allow me to determine your readiness..."

When you are expelled from the quest for having failed the alignment test seven times:

"<playername>! You have doomed us all. You fairly radiate lawful influences
and weaken the power we have raised in the Slime Paradise as a result!
"Begone! We renounce your <brother|sister>hood with us! You are an outcast now!"

When being rejected due to lack of experience:

"<playername>, you are yet too inexperienced to withstand the demands of that
which we need you to do. One who has attained the title of Slurry might just be able to do this thing.
"Return to us when you have learned more, my <son|daughter>."

When being rejected due to having worse than pious alignment:

"You have strayed, <playername>! You know that <Rubiss|Malroth> requires that
we maintain a pure devotion to things chaotic!
"You must go from us. Return when you have purified yourself."

When finally assigned the quest:

"You are indeed ready, <playername>. I shall tell you what has transpired,
and why we so desperately need your help:
"A short time ago, a legendary hero appeared and forged an alliance between the human kingdom and the nearby demihuman settlements.
"During our last gathering of worship here, we were beset by parties of adventurers, as you witnessed. In the first onslaught a group,
headed by the legendary hero himself, managed to infiltrate the Slime Paradise and
steal the Slime Crown.
"Since then, we have been besieged. We do not know how much longer
we will be able to maintain our magical barriers.
"If we are to survive, you, <playername>, must infiltrate
the village of Humbleton. There, you will find a pathway down, to the
Dark Cave of Darkness, where the legendary hero was last sighted. He has always coveted
the Slime Crown, and will surely keep it on his person, until he gets a better piece of headgear and sells it.
"Recover the Slime Crown for us, <playername>! Only then will
the Slime Paradise be safe."

Encouragement

If you subsequently chat to your quest leader, you are encouraged:

"It is rumored that the humans, elves, and dwarves have settled their differences under the banner of the legendary hero, and are now united to attack us."
"The legendary hero is dense, but not as stupid as he lets on."
"Use the Slime Crown, when you find it. It will help you survive to reach us."
"Remember, let <Rubiss|Malroth> be your guide."
"Can there ever be peace between humans and slime-kind?"
"We cannot keep the adventurers out much longer, <playername>. Hurry!"
"To infiltrate the village of Humbleton, you must be very stealthy."
"Remember that the legendary hero is a braggart. Trust not what he says."
"You can triumph, <playername>, if you trust in <Rubiss|Malroth>."

Locate and goal levels

When first entering the locate level:

You find yourself in the forest outside the village of Humbleton.
You remember a globule once told you about secret passages in the woods leading into disused sheds in the
village.

Quest nemesis

When first encountering the quest nemesis:

"A slime? I didn't know that you could encounter them in this dungeon. Must be some sort of special encounter!"

Upon further meetings:

And on the 4th and subsequent meetings:

When you have the Slime Crown, but the legendary hero is still alive:

Discouragement

The legendary hero will occasionally utter maledictions:

"I wonder how much EXP the Slime Emperor is worth?"
"After I beat you, I'm heading back to the Slime Paradise to do some level grinding!"
"You weak creature! Get out of my way!"
"Why do I have to keep fighting weak slimes? Give me some dragons!"
"Damn, that dungeon master keeps selecting the weakest monsters for me to encounter."
"Hey %p, I used to kill monsters like you, what, 10 levels ago? I was expecting something more challenging now!"
"Even if you call yourself a %r, you are no match for me."
"What are you gonna do, splash me with your acid?"
"I have the cure sickness spell at 0%% fail! I'm not afraid of your sliming touch!"

Victory

When picking up your quest artifact:

When killing the nemesis:

The legendary hero collapses to the ground, cursing you and the Slime Emperor, then says:
Beaten by a slime...I can't believe it! Looks like I'll have to go back to my last save...

When returning to your quest leader:

When subsequently throwing the Slime Crown to the Slime Emperor:

Post-quest

When talking to the Slime Emperor after the quest:

When talking to the Slime Emperor after getting the Amulet:
