Messages

Entry

First time:

It's Activist Home. You fear that Activist Speaker may be in trouble. But it is
your obligation to help out, in the name of <deity>.
Let's find out what exactly Activist Speaker needs you for!

Next time:

You have returned to Activist Home. Something is still wrong, and
Activist Speaker absolutely needs your help.

If already rejected twice due to bad alignment:

You are back at Activist Home. Somehow, you get the feeling that
if you do not help Activist Speaker now, you will be stripped of your
title. That wouldn't be good.

Quest guardians

If #chatting before the quest is complete:

"We are planning our next action!"
"We'll keep on fighting!"
"You must help Activist Speaker fight the evil in this world!"
"Something crazy is going on. Activist Speaker may tell you more."
"Been quite active lately, <playername>?"

If #chatting after the quest is complete:

"You're a great <currentrank>, <playername>."
"Thank you for everything!"
"The Activists rule!"
"We will continue trying to make the world a better place!"
"Well done, <playername>!"

Quest leader

When you first meet your quest leader:

"Welcome back, <playername>. There is a task that needs to be
completed, and I would like to send you to do it for me.
Are you ready?"

When you return, having been rejected due to lack of experience:

"Ready now, <playername>?"

This message is not currently used:

"<playername>, you'd better be ready now! If I can't rely on you,
I'll have to remove you from our group!"

When you are expelled from the quest for having failed the alignment test seven times:

"<playername>, you are useless! I should have sent another activist
to go in your stead! And guess what, that's what I'm
gonna do now. Bye."

When being rejected due to lack of experience:

"<playername>, you are not ready yet. Train your skills and then
come back to me."

When being rejected due to having worse than pious alignment:

"<playername>, you don't seem to fully support the views of <deity>!
Tell me, have you sinned or what? Cause that would be
very bad for you. Whatever it was, do something good now
and then come back to me."

When finally assigned the quest:

"Okay, your mission is to defeat a ghost. Some time ago Imelda's Ghost
died, but now she's back from the dead, and what's worse,
those ANTM girls think she's a goddess or something.
You must put Imelda's Ghost to rest. Our activist group wants to
heal the poor ANTM girls and their shrouded minds, showing
them that their show is humiliating and anorexia-inducing.
So, <playername>, go ahead!
And one more thing: In the name of <deity>, DO NOT
kill any topmodels you encounter. If you do, you'll be in big
trouble! These innocent girls will probably still attack you,
but you'll have to show them you don't mean no harm. Screwed
up and lost your charm monster spellbook? I have another one
for you to use. You may also have my teleport away book which
will come in handy if you can cast that spell."

Encouragement

If you subsequently chat to your quest leader, you are encouraged:

"Go and put Imelda's Ghost to rest!"
"Remember what I said, <playername>!"
"Never break the <deity> code of conduct!"
"You must save those poor girls from their sinister ghost!"
"We don't know why Imelda's Ghost has returned from the dead, but it's bad."
"Remember to use your charm monster spell!"
"Remember, your charm monster spell is 100 percent effective if used on a topmodel!"
"You may need some body spell training if you want to cast teleport away."
"Wear your shirt! It might save your life!"
"Wear your shirt if you don't want to get cursed! Just kidding..."

Locate and goal levels

When first entering the locate level:

So this is the place where unsuccessful topmodels go.
You prepare your charm monster spell in order to help those poor girls.

When returning:

Once again, you see some ruined houses and huts. It's a shame
that everyone who gets kicked out of ANTM ends up here.

When first entering the goal level:

Whoa! It seems Imelda's Ghost is here, with lots of still-hopeful girls
around to listen to her lectures!
You must destroy the ghost without harming any innocent girls.
This will be no easy task.

When returning:

Once again, you enter the halls where Imelda's Ghost is trying to encourage
innocent girls to sell their souls to the devils.
And you know, these devils are Kylie Lum and her assistants,
Speedy Gonzales and Dan Naginati.
You must rescue those poor girls from the evil ghost!

Quest nemesis

When first encountering the quest nemesis:

The ghost of Imelda's Ghost notices you and assumes a battle stance.
You know you have to fight her in order to rescue the girls.

Upon further meetings:

Imelda's Ghost's presence haunts you.

And on the 4th and subsequent meetings:

You are stricken with fear as Imelda's Ghost comes closer to you.

When you have the Activist Stick, but Imelda's Ghost is still 'alive':

You still need to fight Imelda's Ghost if you ever want to rescue all the girls here.

Discouragement

Imelda's Ghost does not speak, but will occasionally make her presence known:

Imelda's Ghost screams eerily.
The presence of Imelda's Ghost lets the hair on the back of your neck stand up.
Your visions are blurring...
You suddenly remember some dreadful happenings from your past.
Did something just move?
The air around Ghostly Halls seems icy cold.
This place is giving you the creeps.
You seem to see a white rabbit jumping around.
The walls seem to be closing in on you.
You still have time to flee with your life...

Victory

When picking up your quest artifact:

Huh? That's unexpected... is this some kind of weapon?
Hmm. It's called Activist Stick, yet you don't know anything about it.
Better bring it back to Activist Speaker at once, they may know what it does.

When killing the nemesis:

You destroy Imelda's Ghost, who vanishes into the ether.
Now you just have to pacify or charm the remaining girls, and
Activist Speaker will be very pleased.

When returning to your quest leader:

"Finally, <playername>, you're done. What took you so long? Anyway, you
did a good job. I commend your efforts.
Oh, I see you found Activist Stick, too? This is a special weapon that I
created. It is very strong. Do you want to try it out? It's
yours to keep!"

When subsequently throwing the Activist Stick to Activist Speaker:

"Activist Stick allows you to sense some dangerous foes from far away
as long as you hold it in your hands!"

Post-quest

When talking to Activist Speaker after the quest:

"Thanks for all your help, <playername>. You may rest a while if you want."

When talking to Activist Speaker after getting the Amulet:

"You're indeed helping the world with your actions, <playername>! It's great
to have you around. Keep following the ways of <deity>!"

Miscellaneous

When being rejected for permanently changing alignment:

"Changed your motto, huh <playername>?
Well, *I* still believe in <deity>, so you can't expect any help
from me now. Do whatever you like as long as you don't annoy me
and my activists. Now please bugger off."

When talking to Activist Speaker while carrying the Activist Stick, but Imelda's Ghost is still 'alive':

"This is not enough, <playername>! You still need to put that ghostly woman
out of her misery and save everyone from her misguided ramblings!"
