Hitting the corresponding letter of an item while in the inventory screen will display a lot of this information too, but the item type must be identified if the player wants full disclosure.

Certain types of permafood have additional uses: banana cures hallucination, melon cures confusion, pear cures stun, asian pear cures both confusion and stun, apple cures numbness, orange cures freezing, cream pie cures burn, lemon cures fear.

Ring of sickness resistance = 300 Randomized, base "fragile" (made of glass) Grants sickness resistance. The sink looks clean and neat for a moment.
Ring of trap revealing = 300 Randomized, base "elysium" (made of dragon hide) Gradually reveals traps on the current dungeon level when worn. You realize more details of the sink's architecture!

There are also nasty rings, which give these sink messages:

  • "The water looks extremely disgusting for a moment."
  • "The water looks really icky for a moment."
  • "The water flow seems to be stuck in an infinite loop."
  • "Some writing seems to vanish from the water flow!"
  • "The sink looks like it's crying..."
  • "Some parts of the sink seem missing..."

Putting on any ring that gives one of these messages is a Bad Idea. If they're not already cursed to begin with, they will autocurse when worn.

Amulets

Potion of cancellation ! Randomized, default "sparkly" 300 Quaffing it causes the loss of intrinsics and possibly item knowledge too. Can be thrown at monsters to cancel them; dipping items into it will remove enchantment, blessing etc.
Potion of mutation ! Randomized, default "iffy" 300 If quaffed by a player, same effects like a potion of polymorph. Monsters quaffing it gain a random egotype though.
Potion of extreme power ! Randomized, default "turquoise" 300 Increases max hit points (noncursed) or decreases them (cursed).
Potion of recovery ! Randomized, default "reddish" 300 If cursed, nothing happens. Otherwise, restores the player's hit points, and a blessed potion will also increase max hit points.
Potion of heroism ! Randomized, default "tan" 300 If cursed, the player is no longer invulnerable if he was invulnerable to begin with. Otherwise, the player will be invulnerable, fast and able to see invisible for a period of time, get their health restored to maximum and receive a slight increase to their maximum health, but the player may be blinded for some time as well.
Potion of cyanide ! Randomized, default "vermillion" 300 The player becomes deathly sick and loses a random amount of strength points, while also taking a lot of hit point damage. It may be used for throwing to severely poison a monster, though.
Potion of radium ! Randomized, default "crimson" 300 The player becomes deathly sick. This potion may be thrown at a monster to slightly injure it.
Potion of Jolt Cola ! Randomized, default "illegal" 300 If cursed, the player loses some hit points. Otherwise, hallucination is cured and the player heals 5 hit points. A blessed potion may also grant a level up or increase the player's maximum hit points.
Potion of Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster ! Randomized, default "radiating" 300 The player feels like having their brain smashed out by a slice of lemon wrapped around a large gold brick. This may lower the player's intelligence, confuse them for up to 42 turns, cure lycanthropy and sometimes heal the player's hit points.

Scrolls

Scroll of flood ? Randomized, default "AQUE BRAGH" Creates water tiles. Depending on BUC status, water may be created underneath the player, causing drowning!
Scroll of gain mana ? Randomized, default "DAMN IT" Increases the player's maximum Pw.
Scroll of random enchantment ? Randomized, default "GODFATHER OF ALL ROGUELIKES" The player may select a weapon or armor piece that can be enchanted (doesn't have to be worn). Then it does several things. First, if the enchantment was positive, it is set to +0. Then, the item's current enchantment will be increased by 1 if the scroll was blessed, or reduced by 1 if it was uncursed. And finally, a random amount of enchantment points is either added or subtracted from the item with an equal chance. For best results, therefore, it should be used on items that are +0.
Scroll of tele level ? Randomized, default "GON GET YA" The user teleports to a random level within the current dungeon branch.
Scroll of warping ? Randomized, default "MY SPUTA WILL FLOW DOWN" Teleports the user to any random level in the Dungeons of Doom or Gehennom. This scroll does not work at all if the player already completed the invocation.
Scroll of bad effect ? Randomized, default "LITTLE STRAWBERRY ME BABY" The player is subjected to a random bad effect if the scroll is read, regardless of who is reading it.
Scroll of healing ? Randomized, default "LIFE RESTORATION" Heals some damage the user has taken. This scroll cannot be blanked or polymorped into another item.
Scroll of mana ? Randomized, default "I WANT TO SEE URANUS TOO" Restores some of the player's Pw. This scroll cannot be blanked or polymorped into another item.
Scroll of cure ? Randomized, default "SPARKLING EDWARD CULLEN" Cures all of the player's status ailments, including stoning, sliming, food poisoning and many others. This scroll cannot be blanked or polymorped into another item.
Scroll of phase door ? Randomized, default "LESBIANISM FOR EVERYONE" The player is teleported 2-10 squares away from his current location. Doesn't work if the level is no-teleport.
Scroll of trap disarming ? Randomized, default "CHRISTIAN GREY KILLED ALL HIS SUBS" Reading this scroll will instantly remove all traps adjacent to the player.
Scroll of standard id ? Randomized, default "WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS" The player may identify a single item in their open inventory.
Scroll of trap detection ? Randomized, default "HOYO HOYO" Displays all traps on the current level.
Scroll of acquirement ? Randomized, default "THE RESULT IS THE FRUIT" The player may acquire an item, which is like wishing except the player can only specify the item class (weapon, armor, scroll etc.) to get.
Scroll of proof armor ? Randomized, default "I AM THE KING" One of the player's equipped armor items becomes fooproof.
Scroll of proof weapon ? Randomized, default "YOU ARE DOOMED" The player's wielded weapon becomes fooproof.
Scroll of mass murder ? Randomized, default "ENEMATZU MEMALEZU" The player may specify a monster. All instances of that monster on the current level are killed.
Scroll of undo genocide ? Randomized, default "42" A genocided species starts to exist again; the player must specify a genocided species for this to work. Entering ungenomold will not work though.
Scroll of reverse identify ? Randomized, default "OH CAPTAIN MY CAPTAIN" The player may specify an existing item (e.g. "potion of healing") or an item appearance (e.g. "sparkling potion"), so they can recognize them later.
Scroll of wishing ? Randomized, default "TRICK 13" The player may wish for an object. This scroll cannot be wished for.
Scroll of consecration ? Randomized, default "MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU" The player must be in a room for this scroll to work, in which case an altar is generated. BUC status determines the altar's alignment.
Scroll of enthronization ? Randomized, default "XUS MODA" Creates a throne. This scroll cannot be wished for.
Scroll of fountain building ? Randomized, default "XOR ME HSALS" Creates a fountain. This scroll cannot be wished for.
Scroll of sinking ? Randomized, default "SPORKHACK ASCENSION" Creates a sink.
Scroll of WC ? Randomized, default "LETS PLAY NETHACK" Creates a toilet.
Scroll of lava ? Randomized, default "LETS FAIL AND ROLL" Transforms some floor tiles into lava tiles. This may kill non-flying, non-fire resistant foes.
Scroll of growth ? Randomized, default "WELCOME TO ANGBAND" Trees appear around the user.
Scroll of ice ? Randomized, default "IMMORTAL DUNGEON" Transforms some floor tiles into ice tiles.
Scroll of clouds ? Randomized, default "VOLARE" Creates clouds around the user.
Scroll of barrhing ? Randomized, default "CONVICT PATCH" Creates iron bars around the user.
Scroll of lockout ? Randomized, default "WE WILL HURT YOU" Transforms floor tiles into solid stone walls and broken doorways into locked doors.
Scroll of stoning ? Randomized, default "CURSED TIN OF COCKATRICE MEAT" The player turns to stone if this scroll is read, even if a monster was reading it.
Scroll of root password detection ? Randomized, default "XYZZY" If the player reads it, this scroll only displays YAFM. Monsters can use it to levelport.
Scroll of trap creation ? Randomized, default "TOP SECRET DO NOT READ" Surrounds the user with traps.
Scroll of sleep ? Randomized, default "I AM SO FUCKING TIRED" The user falls asleep. Reading this scroll while standing next to Demogorgon is a bad idea.
Scroll of chaos terrain ? Randomized, default "TIGHT SPANDEX SHIRT" Fills the area surrounding the player with random terrain, including lava, water, ice, trees and iron bars.
Scroll of repair item ? Randomized, default "BOOBIE BLITZ" The player may specify any damaged object in their open inventory to remove rust/corrosion or similar damage.
Scroll of summon boss ? Randomized, default "MONST DOT C AINT BIG ENOUGH" Summons a boss monster, which is usually hostile to the player and may appear with other random monsters.
Scroll of wounds ? Randomized, default "SLASHTHEM IS NOT A FORK OF SLASHEM EXTENDED" Reading this scroll will deal damage to the player.
Scroll of bullshit ? Randomized, default "YOU STEPPED INTO A HEAP OF SHIT" Surrounds the player with heaps of shit that deal acid damage and also damage worn boots when stepped into.
Scroll of item genocide ? Randomized, default "DO YOU WANT YOUR POSSESSIONS IDENTIFIED" The player may enter the name of an item (e.g. "scroll of create monster") to genocide it. This only prevents further copies of said item from spawning, though; existing ones will still be there. Genocided items cannot be wished for. However, genociding a second type of item will automatically ungenocide the first one, allowing that one to be generated again.

Wand of fumbling / Randomized, base "trippy" 500 The player starts to fumble if this wand is zapped.
Wand of starvation / Randomized, base "underestimated" 500 A very dangerous wand that will remove d(1000) points of nutrition from the player, possibly bumping them from "not hungry" into "fainting" status instantly. Monsters will keep zapping this wand while the player is fainted, possibly resulting in starvation.
Wand of confusion / Randomized, base "round cube" 500 The player will be confused for a while if this wand is zapped.
Wand of sliming / Randomized, base "straight" 500 This wand will slowly turn the player into a green slime. No effect if the player is already in slimed condition.
Wand of lycanthropy / Randomized, base "doggy" 500 Infects the player with lycanthropy. The player is always a werewolf if this happens; if already lycanthropic, nothing happens.
Wand of summon undead / Randomized, base "shining" 500 Creates undead monsters for the player to fight.
Wand of wind (from SporkHack) / Randomized, base "timber" 500 Pushes away monsters and objects that are hit by the invisible beam.
Wand of mutation / Randomized, base "bristly" 500 If the player targets themselves, this wand works exactly like a wand of polymorph. Monsters getting hit by the zap will gain an egotype instead.

Wand of full healing / Randomized, base "hawthorn" 500 A more powerful version of the wand of extra healing.
Wand of wonder / Randomized, base "elven-lettered" 500 Zapping this wand gives a random wand effect, chosen from the following: light, secret door detection, create monster, create horde, wishing (only a 0.1% chance if that effect is chosen), enlightenment, detect monsters, detect objects, detect traps, identify, remove curse, punishment. The wand of wonder can also spontaneously explode when zapped.
Wand of bugging / Randomized, base "wooden" 500 Summons some bugs and heisenbugs for the player to fight.
Wand of acquirement / Randomized, base "important" 500 The player can acquire an item every time this wand is zapped, which means they can choose an item type (e.g. scroll, wand, tool...) and get a randomly generated item of that type. It can only be recharged once.
Wand of clone monster / Randomized, base "radiating" 500 Creates a copy of the target monster, unless it can't be cloned (e.g. if it's unique or a shopkeeper). Polymorphed players may zap themselves in order to create pets.
Wand of charging / Randomized, base "buzzing" 500 The player may recharge an object. Wands of charging may only be recharged once, though.
Wand of solar beam / Randomized, base "beaming" 500 Fires a ray of light that may bounce off of walls.
