The angelic beings are a class of NetHack monster, represented by the overall glyph A. They include:
All angelic beings ignore Elbereth and sanctuary.
Angelic beings capable of using weapons (Aleax, Angel, Archon) are created with blessed erodeproof long swords and non-cursed erodeproof large shields[1]; there is a 1/20 chance that the sword will be converted into either Demonbane or Sunsword (if these don't exist yet) and a 1/4 chance of the shield becoming a shield of reflection unless the being is an Archon (where the chances are 100%).
