Shapeshifting

The most unique part of playing as a changeling was the ability to transform into other creatures. Changelings could only polymorph into monsters on their list of known forms. Any time that the player chatted with a monster, that monster was added to their list of known forms.

Upon controlled polymorphing, a changeling was presented with a list of known forms. The changeling may only polymorph into one of these known forms. Should they do so, their knowledge of that form faded, and they would have to talk to that type of monster again in order to be able to polymorph into it again.

Changelings were able to polymorph into any creature on their list of known forms, regardless of whether that creature is considered a valid polymorph form for other races.

Iron Vulnerability

Like elves, changelings were vulnerable to iron, and would take damage when interacting with it.

Techniques

  • Liquid Leap: Allows changelings to transform into acid and leap a short distance, passing through creatures and burning those in their path.
  • Alternate Form: Allows the changeling to instantly polymorph.
