- This article is about the monster in dNetHack and notdNetHack. For the monster in NetHack and its female counterpart in other variants, see dwarf king.
A dwarf queen, h, is a type of monster that appears in dNetHack and notdNetHack. Rather than simply being a female counterpart to dwarf kings, the dwarf queen can cast monster spells.
A dwarf queen has a single weapon attack and will attempt one clerical monster spell per round of combat. She can cast mass cure spells, protection spells, and call other monsters on the level to you via aggravation.
Generation
Randomly generated dwarf queens may generate as peaceful towards lawful characters. A dwarf cleric can grow up into a dwarf queen.
A dwarf queen may appear as the ruler of a throne room - her court can contain dwarf lords, dwarf clerics, dwarves, gnomes, gnome lords, gnome ladies, gnomish wizards, hobbits, and leprechauns.
Strategy
A dwarf queen primarily acts in a supporting role to other monsters.
