The elven shield is a kind of shield, usually found on elves. As per all elven items, it can be safely enchanted up to +7 instead of +5, so for pure AC purposes it's a better choice than any other kind of shield. It is significantly lighter than the dwarvish roundshield or large shield and cannot rust, so it makes a good replacement for either of those items.
