:Much depends on your distribution.  For Debian and its derivatives (Ubuntu, Mint, Knoppix and many others), you need the nethack-x11 package.  Then set OPTIONS=windowtype:[[X11]] in your ~/.nethackrc.

Much depends on your distribution. For Debian and its derivatives (Ubuntu, Mint, Knoppix and many others), you need the nethack-x11 package. Then set OPTIONS=windowtype:X11 in your ~/.nethackrc.
