I've finally managed to keep a chaotic elf wizard alive through mines and Sokoban. Character was generated with
a 8 charge wand of death and another wand of death was found on level 2 in a shop. I am playing on a local sys.
A bones pile got me a magic lamp and so silver dragon scale mail from that. I've killed two shopkeepers and a priest
(Minetown). I sacrificed none of them. All were angered before death. Sacrificing many critters at Minetown chapel
(after conversion to chaotic from neutral) brought nothing but 4 leaf clovers. I procured water and went for the
blessing and got it along with "An object appears at your feet!". It was a blessed spellbook of sleep. Does the
almighty RNG look at inventory / past deeds / lucky escapes / etc. when She/He makes a decision on a gift? I was
hoping for Magicbane / decent weapon when I saw the message but no joy. I already had a spellbook of sleep as well.
Thanks for any insight.
