Hat

In NetHack, a hat may refer to any of the following helms that appear in the game:

• cornuthaum
• dunce cap
• elven leather helm, known as a leather hat when unidentified, or simply as a hat in variants that implement an object materials system
• fedora

Hats are generally non-rigid helms: they do not protect against falling objects, but can be worn while polyselfed into a form with a horned head, and wearing one lowers the amount of damage taken if you hit the ceiling from quaffing a cursed potion of levitation.
