SLASH'EM

In SLASH'EM, hobbits start with the useful intrinsics speed and infravision, and with the blink technique. According to the guidebook:

Hobbits are quick of hearing and sharp-eyed, and though they are inclined to be fat and do not hurry unnecessarily, they are nonetheless nimble and deft in their movements. A love of learning (other than genealogical lore) is far from general among them. Hobbits are difficult to daunt, or to kill, and at need can still handle arms.

Roles

With the good physical stats, mages are not advised due the low intelligence, however they can do well with wisdom based ones. Hobbits are not allowed to #twoweapon.

EvilHack

In EvilHack, hobbits can be either lawful or neutral, and can play as an Archeologist, Healer, Priest, Rogue, Ranger, Tourist, or Wizard. Hobbits start with the new 'food sense' intrinsic, are innately hungry, gain speed at XL4 and searching at XL7.

They prefer elven gear over anything else, and will start with said gear if it's available. They also receive a multishot bonus with slings, knives, and daggers.

Everyone knows hobbits are all about food and when they can eat next: Because of this, they start with extra food (if not a Convict) and a tinning kit (if not a Convict or an Archeologist). They can also eat more than twice the amount of food other races can eat before becoming satiated.
