A leather jacket is a form of body armor. The Archeologist role starts out with one.
The leather jacket is lightweight and does not interfere with spellcasting, but it is the weakest body armor, at a base AC of 1 and zero magic cancellation. One will do well to replace it with better armor as soon as possible.
