The mangler is a monster added in SLASH'EM. It is similar in concept to a rothe, but much stronger.

Strategy

Like rothes, these may appear in small groups and are somewhat slow. They can do a surprisingly large amount of damage, however. Their tendency to appear in groups can make it dangerous to fight them, as they can survive long enough for the other members of the pack to surround you, which can be deadly. One should try to lure them off one by one, or used ranged weapons.
