Metal is a material used for metallic objects in NetHack that are not iron, mithril, copper, platinum, silver, or gold. Metal objects are immune to erosion.

Variants
In variants with an object materials system, metal versions of metallic objects are referred to as steel.
UnNetHack
In UnNetHack, the following items are also metal:
