The potion of confusion will make you confused for several turns.

Description
The duration of the confusion depends on the BUC of the potion[1]:
- blessed: 8-16 turns
- uncursed: 16-24 turns
- cursed: 24-30 turns
Dipping a unicorn horn into the potion turns it into uncursed water, and dipping it into gain energy or gain level turns the potion into either booze or enlightenment.
Strategy
Reading scrolls while confused is sometimes useful. However there are many other sources of confusion that weigh less.

- You quaffed a potion of confusion while hallucinating.
- You feel somewhat dizzy
- A monster threw the potion at you, so you are confused for 1 to 5 turns.
