A robe of protection is a new type of body armor in SLASH'EM. Other than its high base AC, it confers no special abilities. Its chief use is that it provides a decent amount of AC and does not interfere with a monk's martial arts abilities; most other characters will prefer a good mithril suit or dragon scale mail.
