---I'm inclined to agree for many of the reasons I outline in the Flame Mage vs. Ice Mage section, though I would point out that in the unlikely event that you haven't branched out into ice magic by the endgame, the ice mage would have the advantage of magic that works on demons.  I suppose cone of cold is also a slightly more powerful spell than fireball.  But in the opening, there is a serious imbalance between the two.
