What about potion dilution? What effect does that have?

I don't think it has any significant effect. Diluted fruit juice will give you half of the nutrition and undiluted booze will heal one hit point. Diluted see invisible will give you different messages so it will seem the same as fruit juice, but the effect won't change. Tagmata 00:56, 20 December 2007 (UTC)
I added a section on dilution, which includes these effects but is missing any others. All are invited to improve it!--Ckbryant 16:02, 24 January 2008 (UTC)

While wearing a cloak of displacement, a Gnome Lord threw a potion at me (in the wrong direction). This missed potion did not shatter... and I was able to retrieve it.--PeterGFin 17:16, January 8, 2010 (UTC)

Sounds like the potion made a saving throw. --FJH 04:49, 9 February 2011 (UTC)

Yet another message

I think I was polymorphed into a giant spider (or maybe stalker [realize those are 2 VERY different things. Ring of polymorph, what can I say?). I drank a potion, and receieved the following message, which I could not find in a search: "Your skin glows..." (may've been words in between)"...then fades". Increase armor? I dunno.01:10, 7 December 2010 (UTC)01:11, 7 December 2010 (UTC)Slarty 01:11, 7 December 2010 (UTC)

I believe that's the Scroll of enchant armor when not wearing any armor (and not blind). No potion in nethack gives such a message.--Kynde (talk) 10:50, 1 October 2013 (UTC)

Chances of Boiling/Freezing

Does anyone know the exact chances of boiling/freezing for wielded weapons, wands, spells, etc etc? --AileTheAlien 10:11, 11 September 2011 (UTC)

Grepping. Source:Ref/destroy_item and Source:Ref/destroy_mitem destroy individual things in monster/player inventory. Source:Ref/fire_damage orders some things burnt and does some probs. Then I ran out of desire to continue grepping. --Tjr 00:11, 20 September 2011 (UTC)
