What does "closed for inventory" mean? WHY do stores "close for inventory"? (Other than to be 'realistic' and a bit annoying?) How long do they remain closed?  What happens if you teleport into a closed shop?  Etc. etc.

I noticed that the listed probabilities for items in a lighting shop didn't add to 100%. Checking the code in shknam.c, the shtypes function, tallow candles are 50% of the items, not 40%. Closed for inventory

What does "closed for inventory" mean? WHY do stores "close for inventory"? (Other than to be 'realistic' and a bit annoying?) How long do they remain closed? What happens if you teleport into a closed shop? Etc. etc.

I think what it means is that the door to the shop was generated locked by the RNG and this is just the message that it gives you so you know there is a shop on the other side. --MadDawg2552 04:19, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
