A tsurugi is a special weapon that is not normally generated. It exists to serve as the base item for the Tsurugi of Muramasa, though it is also possible to wish for an ordinary one. When unidentified, a tsurugi appears as a long samurai sword.
Tsurugi are made of generic metal rather than iron, so they do not need to be rustproofed.
Generation
Tsurugi are not randomly generated. The only way to get one is to find the Tsurugi of Muramasa or to wish for one. They may also appear on bones levels of adventurers that happened to have one.
Strategy
Tsurugi do even more damage than ordinary two-handed swords, but are subject to the same disadvantages.
While the Tsurugi of Muramasa might be worth wishing for, if you want its chance of bisecting monsters, a non-artifact tsurugi is not worth a wish. Any role that is unrestricted in two-handed swords can also twoweapon, and there are weapon combinations that can do more damage than an ordinary tsurugi.
Appearance
Unlike the curved katana, the tsurugi is a straight-bladed double-edged sword. Kusanagi, one of the three objects of the Imperial Regalia of Japan, is said to be a tsurugi.

The tsurugi, also known as the long samurai sword, is an

It is made of hardened steel, and is manufactured using a
special process, causing it to never rust. The tsurugi is
