Tools, represented by ( are the miscellaneous items in the game which don't fall into any other category and include such stuff as containers, light sources, and musical instruments. Most tools can be used by applying them. Tools are 8% of all randomly-generated items in the main dungeon, 0% in containers, 0% on the Rogue level, and 12% in Gehennom.
