Strategy

"If you stand on the Orb of Fate and engrave Elbereth underneath you, he will move next to you in an attempt to retrieve the Orb of Fate and will usually remain next to you without teleporting away to heal. You can then proceed to melee him down." - it should work with other covetous monsters too. Can we add this tactic in all covetous monsters pages? One can use Amulet of Yendor, quest artifact, invocation items etc. instead of the Orb. --S.K. 22:17, 21 December 2011 (UTC)

Just tried it on Demogorgon. He still teleports away to heal. I think is he teleporting away less, but he's still doing it. Meleeing him isn't a viable strategy by just doing this, you still need something to quickly finish your target off. -- Qazmlpok 23:05, 21 December 2011 (UTC)
