It might be useful to have a table of how wands are affected by monster MR. From trawling zhitm/bhitm in zap.c, I *think* this is what happens (I haven't added it to the page because I am unsure).
A successful resist via monster MR will:
- halve damage from undead turning, fire, cold, lightning, magic missile, striking (MM & striking have no damage if it's player-style MR);
- take no effect from poly, speed, slow, sleep, cancellation.
The other wands do not even check against monster MR (tele, death, make invisible, probing, etc).
If others can confirm it would be useful to add.
