Displacement in ascension kit
Is it really true that nobody uses cloaks of displacement in the endgame? While I mostly play classes that need a robe, the property would seem useful on Astral in particular. An analysis of NAO dumplogs (or a link if you already have one) would be nice. Tomsod (talk) 04:03, 10 November 2025 (UTC)
A player reading this article would be better served with other cloaks- as the displacement article states, "Displacement is invaluable when running from a fight that the character are ill-equipped for, especially in the early game. " Those words aren't mind but I agree and it fits my observation. Perhaps we can guide them towards intrinsic invisibility which pre-empts displacement and is readily available before an ascension run, but that's not necessarily Ascension Kit(tm). Seasoned players will want to improve MC/AC (cloak of protection), MR (cloak of magic resistance), or spellcasting (robes). The oilskin cloak is situationally useful to prevent grabbing attacks especially on the plane of water for players not genociding sea monsters and that don't have access to grease.
I'm not averse to checking logs but from my recent years of observing various ascensions I've never seen an ascension kit that includes the cloak in question. --A1 (talk) 04:35, 10 November 2025 (UTC)
