The disintegratior belongs to the same genus as disenchanters and rust monsters. It's notable attack is the ability to disintegrate armor carried by the player. It also has a passive ability which allows it when struck to disintegrate the attacking weapon of the player. This includes gloves if the player is wearing them but not rings.
