Would it be possible to ascend without moving using the hjkl/number pad keys (teleport, digging, etc. are still valid)?

I think so, but you would need a crapton of luck. On the way down you would probably be able to get away with digging/teleport.
you would need a lot of cursed potions of gain level after getting the amulet, but if you're patient then you can probably get enough. Probably the hardest part would be on no-teleport levels: you would need a vortex to engulf you. The only one I'm not sure about is the castle and medusa: if you ended up on the wrong part of them...
