:Let's assume you murdered 3 of the watch, since your cat killed one.  You took the 2-Luck penalty three times.  If you had 0 Luck before, you now have -6 Luck, which might be troublesome since you now have a to-hit penalty, and searching for doors and traps will be almost impossible.  It will time out in about 3600 turns though.  But if you have access to a co-aligned altar (maybe you even increased your Luck before?), then it's probably not too bad.  The alignment record penalty should be 15 for each watch captain and watchman (see Alignment#Alignment gains from killing monsters), since the absolute values of their alignments are less than 5.  So a total alignment penalty of 45, which is not too bad; your alignment record might even still be positive if your turn count is over 7000.  Cathartes (talk) 05:31, 28 February 2024 (UTC)

How bad did I screw up?

My neutral Tourist threw a dagger at the Minetown watch captain. I thought it was a Green elf. That angered the captain and the entire watch. Now the watch captain and three watchmen are dead. I think the Tourist’s pet large cat killed one of the latter. The Tourist killed the others and was called a Murderer in one case. He may have to kill more if there are any.

At the least, the Tourist lost intrinsic telepathy and 2 luck. I cannot figure out how much alignment was lost. Any guesses?

Let's assume you murdered 3 of the watch, since your cat killed one.
