OK, by typist me ended up wielding a cursed short sword.
Took off, removed, and dropped everything I could, leaving the sword and a ring I could not remove because of the sword.
Kicked a nymph.
Who took the ring I could not remove because I was holding the cursed sword.
At this point the character cannot survive with is roaming nearby. I'm going to leave everything on the floor and hope to leave a clean bones pile ;-)
